Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's loss to the Padres.
Reynolds was the only Pirate to have multiple hits as well as an extra base hit in Tuesday's shutout loss. His eighth inning double was his first extra base hit since Aug. 4. He's been one of the few consistent hitters in the lineup over the course of the season and has been hitting exceptionally well over this last month. Since July 13, Reynolds is slashing .353/.433/.471 with two homers, 13 RBI and 12 runs. For the year, the 29-year-old All-Star is slashing .288/.355/.473 with 19 homers, 69 RBI, 54 runs, six steals and a 43:114 BB:K in 516 plate appearances.

Tuesday's performance was McCarthy's fourth straight multi-hit and multi-RBI game Tuesday and his fifth in the last six games. He came up to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth with his team down a run and won the game for the Diamondbacks on a walk-off single that scored two. Over his last 17 games, McCarthy is batting .460/.477/.730 with 19 RBI, though he's driven in 15 runs in his last six games. He's become one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last couple of weeks and seems to have supplanted Alek Thomas in the Diamondbacks' outfield pecking order for now.

Loperfido entered Tuesday 0-for-22 with 10 strikeouts over his last six games. He was able to break the slump and pick up his first steal since June 23 when he was a member of the Astros. The outfielder is slashing .207/.266/.310 with two home runs, three steals, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored, five doubles and two triples over 159 plate appearances this season. He's maintained a strong-side platoon role in left field despite his recent poor hitting, though he could lose some work if Davis Schneider is able to break out of his own slump any time soon.

Wood logged the second four-hit game of his rookie campaign and was almost perfect at the plate until grounding out in his final at-bat. The 21-year-old is in the midst of a breakout August, tallying six extra-base hits, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and four steals through 11 contests. On the season, he is hitting .283 with four home runs, 26 RBI, 23 runs scored and six steals across 157 plate appearances.
