Pirates' Bryan Reynolds: Three hits Tuesday

Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's loss to the Padres.

Reynolds was the only Pirate to have multiple hits as well as an extra base hit in Tuesday's shutout loss. His eighth inning double was his first extra base hit since Aug. 4. He's been one of the few consistent hitters in the lineup over the course of the season and has been hitting exceptionally well over this last month. Since July 13, Reynolds is slashing .353/.433/.471 with two homers, 13 RBI and 12 runs. For the year, the 29-year-old All-Star is slashing .288/.355/.473 with 19 homers, 69 RBI, 54 runs, six steals and a 43:114 BB:K in 516 plate appearances.

Diamondbacks' Jake McCarthy: Stays hot Tuesday

McCarthy went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.

Tuesday's performance was McCarthy's fourth straight multi-hit and multi-RBI game Tuesday and his fifth in the last six games. He came up to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth with his team down a run and won the game for the Diamondbacks on a walk-off single that scored two. Over his last 17 games, McCarthy is batting .460/.477/.730 with 19 RBI, though he's driven in 15 runs in his last six games. He's become one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last couple of weeks and seems to have supplanted Alek Thomas in the Diamondbacks' outfield pecking order for now.

Blue Jays' Joey Loperfido: Records third steal

Loperfido went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and one stolen base in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Angels.

Loperfido entered Tuesday 0-for-22 with 10 strikeouts over his last six games. He was able to break the slump and pick up his first steal since June 23 when he was a member of the Astros. The outfielder is slashing .207/.266/.310 with two home runs, three steals, 17 RBI, 14 runs scored, five doubles and two triples over 159 plate appearances this season. He's maintained a strong-side platoon role in left field despite his recent poor hitting, though he could lose some work if Davis Schneider is able to break out of his own slump any time soon.

Nationals' James Wood: Four hits in win

Wood went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Orioles.

Wood logged the second four-hit game of his rookie campaign and was almost perfect at the plate until grounding out in his final at-bat. The 21-year-old is in the midst of a breakout August, tallying six extra-base hits, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and four steals through 11 contests. On the season, he is hitting .283 with four home runs, 26 RBI, 23 runs scored and six steals across 157 plate appearances.

Orioles' Anthony Santander: Goes deep in Tuesday's loss

Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Nationals.

Santander has four homers over his last six games, but he also struck out multiple times for the fourth contest in a row Tuesday. Still, his power remains impressive, as he's up to 36 homers this season and hasn't gone more than four games without a long ball since the All-Star break. He's added a .243/.309/.538 slash line, 80 RBI, 72 runs scored and two stolen bases across 115 contests this season.

Yankees' Juan Soto: Bashes three homers in win

Soto went yard in his second, third and fourth at-bats, taking Jonathan Cannon deep twice and adding his third homer off reliever Fraser Ellard. Soto has five hits over the last three games, and all of those knocks have been homers. The power surge has him up to 33 long balls this year in addition to 86 RBI, 100 runs scored, 24 doubles, four triples, five stolen bases and a .306/.434/.608 slash line through 117 contests.
