Psycho Cut is definitely Necrozma's least threatening Fast Move, as it has low power even post-STAB, is double-resisted by Dark Type counters, and only deals neutral damage to most Ghost Types. Shadow Claw is also resisted by Dark Types, but it can be more challenging due to the fact that it can cut into Ghost Type counters pretty hard. Finally, Metal Claw has good neutral coverage, making it potentially annoying to any counters.

For Charged moves, Future Sight is the easiest to deal with due to Dark's double-resistance to it, and how rarely it drops. Dark Pulse is a bit iffy, as it will heavily damage Ghosts, but Dark counters will deal with it without much issue. Finally, Iron Head can be somewhat challenging due to its decent neutral coverage, while Outrage has even better neutral coverage and high base power.

Necrozma is the basis for some genuinely powerful Fusions, but it's not extremely threatening in-and-of itself. This beast is pretty standard for the most part, as a Psychic Type with middling stats and only semi-threatening moveset. Most of the time it won't be extremely hard for the top counters, though rolling badly on moveset may require an additional raider, depending on the raid group.

All-in-all, Necrozma should be a high-priority for anyone looking to build up their Ghost or Steel teams, and as its fusions are really strong. On top of that, its future as Ultra Necrozma looms pretty large given current precedent!

Dodging Future Sight can greatly increase a counter's TDO, as it's one-bar. Dark Pulse should definitely be dodged by Ghosts, though Dark Types can generally eat it without much of a worry. Iron Head is somewhat threatening to just about everyone, though its power isn't extremely high. Finally, Outrage is fairly easy to dodge and hits hard, so it's generally best to dodge.

Mega Tyranitar may not have the absolute top DPS for this raid, but its tremendous average TDO more than makes up for it. This thing is a stone-wall against Necrozma, and it can stand up to most of what this light-absorbing terror can throw out against it... most. It does have to watch out for Necrozma's Steel attacks, but the rest are all easily walled out.



Mega Gengar is the DPS king here. This thing shreds Necrozma's HP in short order, and will cut into the clock pretty hard, especially given efficient dodging. However, it's also got to watch out for a number of attacks that can potentially cut its spooky rampage short. There's some Risk/Reward here when compared to Mega Tyranitar, but it's still very much worth using.

Mega Banette is, sadly, Mega Gengar but worse. Even without the Psychic weakness, it's still not going to put in the numbers of the original ghost. Still, it's solid in its own right.



A very solid Dark Type attacker, Mega Houndoom puts in good numbers. It's not on a par with the big-names, but it's definitely capable of hitting hard while boosting its fellow Dark Types, especially given the fact that it resists just about everything that Necrozma can throw at it.



A bit underwhelming when compared to the Mega Evolutions listed above, but still okay.



While it lacks the Super Effective damage of the rest of the Mega counters on this list, it has the advantage of a brutal moveset and a tremendous Attack stat, meaning it's still very much a viable attacker. It doesn't boost any Dark or Ghost attackers while on the field, but it's still good in its own right!



If you insist on using Bugs, then Mega Heracross is your best Mega Evolution... but don't expect it to last an extremely long time.



The best counter to Necrozma is... Necrozma. This thing has an outstanding presence thanks to the sheer and overwhelming power of Moongeist Beam. It has to watch out for Ghost and Dark Type moves due to its Psychic/Ghost typing both sporting weaknesses to these typesjus,i but its high raw stats and amazing moveset allows it to remain an extremely threatening presence.



The prime TDO counter with DPS that's comparable to the top DPS counters, Shadow Tyranitar is a hugely important Pokemon that can help make quick work of Necrozma.



Shadow Chandelure is great for this raid thanks in part to its Fire sub-typing. It needs to watch out for the same weaknesses as most general Ghost Types, but at least it resists Steel Type moves. This thing also compliments Shadow Tyranitar's Strengths/Weaknesses extremely well, for added utility.



A glass cannon, Shadow Gengar is an extremely capable attacker that has to watch out for a number of attacks.



The points for Shadow Chandelure hold true here, but it's a bit weaker.



Shadow Weavile generally has more in common with the big-name Ghosts than its fellow Dark Types due to its general frailty, but it's still a very powerful option here.



Shadow Mewtwo has to beware of a few of Necrozma's attacks, but fewer than most Ghosts, and it's got the raw power to still be an exceptional option here.

The following are capable of putting in work for this raid to varying degrees, though they definitely fall behind the competition. The Pokemon on this section of the list are solid fillers or great options if you don't have better options, but the above Pokemon should be prioritized if possible.
