With 100 years of history and counting, the LA Memorial Coliseum has welcomed millions of visitors and unique events onto its field. Known as “The Greatest Stadium in the World” and a living memorial to all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I, the Coliseum has been an integral part of Los Angeles’ identity as a city since it was built in 1923. LA Memorial Coliseum History
Located in the Exposition Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, the LA Memorial Coliseum currently serves as the home of the University of Southern California Trojans football team.
The Coliseum was commissioned in 1921 as a memorial to the Los Angeles veterans who fought in World War I. Construction was completed in 1923, with much of the architecture having elements of the Egyptian, Spanish and Mediterranean Revival styles. From 2018 to 2019, renovations to the venue added multiple suites, restrooms, a press box, lobbies, lounges, concessions, new concourse with six elevator cabs across seven stories among other new features.
In 2028, the stadium will become the first to have hosted the Summer Olympics three times, having previously hosted the games in 1932 and 1984. The coliseum was designated a National Historic Landmark on July 27, 1984, a day before the opening ceremony of the 1984 Summer Olympics. In addition to the Summer Olympics, the Coliseum has hosted two Super Bowls, a World Series, a Papal Mass, visits from three U.S. Presidents and scores of additional sporting and social events.
Some of the greatest musical acts in entertainment have performed at the Coliseum, including Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, U2, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Metallica, The Who, Bad Bunny, Drake, Los Bukis and many more.
Parking and Admission at LA Memorial Coliseum
There are multiple parking options available onsite and within Exposition Park for guests to choose from. Additional parking is available on the USC campus, which is a ten-minute walk from the venue.
Exposition Park Lots open six hours prior to kickoff for permit holders only.All parking for USC Football in Exposition Park is sold and distributed in advance. There are no cash lots in Exposition Park during USC Football games. There is also ADA accessible parking in Exposition Park. Marked ADA spaces may not be reserved in advance are subject to availability based on arrival.
Bus, RV and oversized vehicle parking is extremely limited and sold in advance of the event. Tall vans, large SUVs, RVs or buses will not be accepted in any parking garage because of height restrictions.
Public transportation is also an option; the Metro E Line has two stops adjacent to the Coliseum (Expo Park/USC or Expo/Vermont) that are less than a five-minute walk to the entrance gates.
The Coliseum prohibits bags, backpacks and other containers from entering the venue, with the following exceptions: one bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and does not exceed 12” x 6” x 12,” a one-gallon clear plastic storage bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
Guests may carry a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.
The following items are not allowed in the Coliseum: bags, backpacks or purses which do not meet bag policy guidelines, hard/soft coolers, baskets, packages or containers. alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, weapons, professional cameras, selfie-sticks, banners, sticks, poles, inflatables, frisbees, balls, unsliced produce, umbrellas, balloons, strollers, skateboards, noise making devices and pets (service animals are allowed).
LA Memorial Coliseum Capacity & Seating Options
The LA Memorial Coliseum has the capacity for 77,500 fans; split into 42 suites, 1,100 club seats, 24 loge boxes and a 500-person rooftop terrace. View the seating configurations at LA Memorial Coliseum.
With its classic stadium seating, fans have excellent views of the action on the field from any seat in the venue. Club seats at the LA Memorial Coliseum are the most comfortable seating option available, having wider, padded seats. In addition to the extra comfort while watching the game, fans with tickets to a 400 club section will be able to access the climate-controlled lounges. In the lounges, fans can relax in the air conditioning or enjoy the upscale food options and alcoholic beverages.
The Coliseum is a fully accessible venue. Accessible seating sections feature in-seat service for patrons in wheelchairs or with restricted mobility. People who require accessible seating because of a disability are permitted to purchase tickets for accessible seats. Tickets for accessible seats may be sold to individuals who require accessible seating themselves or to someone purchasing on their behalf.

There are a variety of options for food and beverage at the LA Memorial Coliseum. The Food Court offers classic game day foods, burgers, nachos and hot dogs.
